GPS Service & Handling Charges

Freight Collect Charge ($15)
A $15 Freight Collection Fee will be charged to the customer when the shipment is going to be paid for by the receiver rather than the shipper.

Account Setup Charge ($20)
Any new customer who requests to set up an account for our online system will have to pay a $20 Account Setup Fee.

Pickup Arrangement ($15)
This service is similar to on site delivery in which we can help you contact a third party with your merchandise to arrange a shipment. We do, however, charge $15 for our Pickup Arrangement service.

Receiving and Research Charge ($5)
If the shipping information you provided to us was insufficient for shipping out your package then we will charge $5 on your shipment for Receiving and Research services.

Receiving Charge ($3)
If the customer delivers a package to us via Fedex, UPS, or other carrier without having attached a GPS label or Tracking Number on the package, then we have to file a receiving charge of $3 for holding the package until we get further information regarding the shipment.

Label printing ($1)
If a customer delivers a package to us without a label then we can print the label for that package as long as the tracking number is visibly displayed on the package. However, a $1 label printing fee will be applied for our Label Printing service.

Repackaging Charge  ($5)
If the package was damaged during delivery or the customer requests that we repack the shipment, then we will charge a $5 for our Repackaging Service.

Payment Request Charge  ($2)
If you have no payment term with us or there is no credit/money on your GPS account, then we will charge a $2 Payment Request Charge upon sending you your payment request.

 

Third Party Insurance on DHL, FedEx, or UPS Packages

GPS, working with a private insurance group, starting 4/15/13, offer third party insurance on our DHL outbound shipments. (from USA)

Premium Calculation:

  • Handling Fee: US$5.00 (Per HAWB)
  • Premium: 0.5% ($5 per $1,000), Minimum $15.
  • Examples:
    $2,000 Value = $2,000 x 0.005 = $10; Premium = $15 + $5 = $20
    $3,000 Value = $3,000 x 0.005 = $15; Premium = $15 + $5 = $20
    $4,000 Value = $4,000 x 0.005 = $20; Premium = $20 + $5 = $25

Scope Of Coverage:

  • Merchandise can be lawfully sold and transported, excluding harzadous goods, weapons, fire arms, and all equipment that require export license from US Department Of Commerce.
  • Maximum Insured Value: US$20,000.00。
  • Only shipments with DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT.
  • Insured goods must be handed to these 4 carriers by GPS.
  • Insured only Lost.  Damages or short shipment will be covered by carrier's standard policy.
  • Actions taken by Customs authorities (duties, taxes, return, confiscation) are not covered by the polity.

How To Purchase:

The insured requests a quote from GPS.

  1. The insured requests a quote from GPS.
  2. GPS issues a quote. (We reserve the right to decline coverages on merchandise of unknown origins).
  3. The insured accepts the quote.
  4. GPS arranges shipments, generates carrier waybill.
  5. GPS issues invoice for the insurance premium with reference to the tracking number.
  6. Insurance premium must be paid before the shipment is picked up by carrier.

How To File A Claim:

  • The shipment must be documented as lost by the carrier, either in writting or by web.
  • The insured will file a claim which will include an invoice of which the merchandise was purchased on.
  • GPS will verify:
    The premium was paid prior to the shipment pick up by the carrier.

    The shipment did go through carrier system, and was determined lost.
    The claimed value is comparable with the merchandise' market value.

  • Upon approving the claim, GPS will issue immediate credit to the insured party's account.
